I fell in love with yoga immediately upon moving to Moultrie in 2010, and studied faithfully with Kate Marvel-Lewis at The Bookshelf in Thomasville… taking classes here and there in Atlanta and Tallahassee. For me, yoga was an avenue for making friends and for balancing triathlon training, home life and career stress.
I’m currently undergoing 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Suzanne and Sarah at Journeys in Yoga (Tallahassee), and will complete my certification in 2012. I’m fascinated by the relaxation and fitness benefits of yoga, and I blend the smooth flow of Vinyasa, the deep stretch of Yin Yoga, and the heart-pumping movement of Ashtanga in my own practice.
For me, yoga is about making time for yourself. It’s about playfulness, laughter, resetting your internal batteries, and feeling the very best that you can.
I love how yoga forces us to slow down, step back, breathe deeply and think clearly.
I call my practice SkyBlu Yoga, because you can take yoga anywhere you go, and practice it under any sky, anywhere. I just happen to find blue skies inspiring.
